New grounding connectors for substations

SBI has developed new connectors for grounding metal structures at substations. These new connectors allow the connection of two cables with a 95/120/150/185 mm2 cross-section to a two-hole palm.

Straight and 45º angled versions are available, adapting to the layout of the structure. The connectors include a tin-plated coating to protect against corrosion, as the copper palm is in contact with an aluminum busbar.

Short-circuit simulation and pull-out type tests have been conducted, according to IEEE 837-2002/IEC61238-1, to ensure the correct performance.
